Paul Mackerras 82dacf2c1c ECPIX-5: Wire up SPI flash
The flash chip on my board is an ISSI IS26LP256P chip. The ISSI chip
requires slightly different setup for quad mode from the other brands,
but works fine with the existing SPI flash interface logic here.

Matt Johnston 4bd45af739 Move alt_reset to syscon
Instead of connecting core_alt_reset to litedram init_done, it moves to
a syscon register bit. This simplifies top- files and future soc_reset
handling. sdram main.c can unset the alt_reset bit after sdram init.

Matt Johnston dfecda3a5f bin2hex: handle any file length, not just 8 or 4
Treat the input as if it was padded with zeroes to a multiple
of 8. This is needed if the .data in a binary changes size, it
won't be a nice multiple of 4 or 8. At present the microwatt
binaries all are multiples of 8, but making code alterations could make
bin2hex fail unexpectedly.

Paul Mackerras b8f9c833f8 litedram: Split L2 PLRU into storage and logic
As has been done for the L1 dcache and icache, this puts the L2 cache
PLRU state into a little RAM and has a single copy of the logic to
calculate the pseudo-LRU way and update the PLRU state.

Michael Neuling 24d04ed8f9 Fix litedram wrapper build warnings and metavalues
This fixes a couple of build warnings in litedram-wrapper-l2.vhdl

litedram/extras/litedram-wrapper-l2.vhdl:552:17⚠️ declaration of "i" hides constant "i" [-Whide]
            for i in 0 to ROW_SIZE-1 loop
                ^
litedram/extras/litedram-wrapper-l2.vhdl:1129:9⚠️ declaration of "litedram_trace" hides generic "litedram_trace" [-Whide]
        litedram_trace: litedram_trace_stub;
        ^

It also cleans up the runtime metavalue warnings

Benjamin Herrenschmidt 39c2abae51 Fix build of core_dram_tb and dram_tb and fix tracing
We disabled --trace by default, so we need to stop linking verilated_vcd_c.o
as it doesn't exist in that case.

While at it, make a Makefile variable to enable/disable verilator tracing
and add a couple of generics to those test benches to control tracing
in the L2 and in litedram.

Raptor Engineering Development Team fcb783a0fb Extend LiteDRAM VHDL wrapper to allow more than one clock line
This is necessary for the upcoming Arctic Tern system enablement,
since Arctic Tern uses two DRAM devices and a separate clock line
is routed to each device. LiteX handles this behavior correctly,
therefore we assume other hardware exists that uses a similar
DRAM clock design.

Updates from Mikey to fix some compile issues.

Paul Mackerras ca4eb46aea Make wishbone addresses be in units of doublewords or words
This makes the 64-bit wishbone buses have the address expressed in
units of doublewords (64 bits), and similarly for the 32-bit buses the
address is in units of words (32 bits). This is to comply with the
wishbone spec. Previously the addresses on the wishbone buses were in
units of bytes regardless of the bus data width, which is not correct
and caused problems with interfacing with externally-generated logic.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt dbb137437c acorn: Add support for the Acorn CLE 215+
This is a NiteFury based PCIe M2 form-factor board originally
used for mining. It contains a speed grade 2 Artix 7 200T,
1GB of DDR3 and 32MB of flash.

The serial port is routed to pin 2 (RX) and 3 (TX) of the P2
connector (pin 1 is GND).

Note: Only 16MB of flash is currently usable until code is added
to configure the flash controller to use 4-bytes address commands
on that part.

Boris Shingarov 49f1389a21 Fix ld error in elf maketarget
The sdram_init ELF fails to link:

powerpc64le-linux-gnu-ld -static -nostdlib -T sdram_init.lds \
    --gc-sections -o sdram_init.elf head.o main.o sdram.o console.o \
    libc.o sdram_init.lds
powerpc64le-linux-gnu-ld: error: linker script file 'sdram_init.lds'
    appears multiple times
make: *** [Makefile:70: sdram_init.elf] Error 1

This is because sdram_init.lds is one of the prerequisites, and thus is
contained in $^. However, it is also explicitly specified as part of
LDFLAGS, as the argument to -T.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt f9f18906a3 soc: Rename wb_dram_ctrl to wb_ext_io and rework decoding
This makes the control bus currently going out of "soc" towards
litedram more generic for external IO devices added by the
top-level rather than inside the SoC proper.

This is mostly renaming of signals and a small change on how the
address decoder operates, using a separate "cascaded" decode for
the external IOs.

We make the region 0xc8nn_nnnn be the "external IO" region for
now.

This will make it easier / cleaner to add more external devices.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt 05bbbf0772 litedram: Pipeline store acks in L2
There is a long timing path to generate the ack signal from
the L2 cache as it's fully combinational for stores, including
signals coming from litedram.

Instead, pipeline the store acks. This will introduce a cycle
latency but should improve timing. Also the core will eventually
be smart enough not to wait for store acks to complete them anyway.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt b23fd6c5f1 litedram: Defer clearing of tags & valids to improve timing
Currently, there's a huge mux gathering the output of all the PLRUs
to select the victim way on cache miss. This is fed combinationally
into the clearing of the valid and tags.

In order to help timing, let's store it instead and perform the
clearing on the next cycle. The L2 doesn't respond to requests
when not in IDLE state so this should have no negative effects.
